$20,000 and Counting!

Burke & Herbert Bank’s Goals for Good donation to the Capital Youth Empowerment Program (CYEP) has grown to more than $20,000! The Goals for Good program is a partnership between the Bank and Monumental Sports Network, network for the Washington Capitals hockey team. For every goal scored by the Capitals during the 2023-24 NHL regular season, Burke & Herbert Bank is donating $100 to CYEP, a local non-profit organization that trains and equips the underserved with the tools and empowerment needed to succeed in school, at work, and in life. They work to empower disenfranchised families in our neighborhoods through social education, mentoring, and career development programs.

This is the ninth consecutive year that Burke & Herbert Bank has teamed up with Monumental Sports Network (formerly NBC Sports Washington) to leverage the excitement of the hockey season and the enthusiasm of Capitals on-air announcers Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin to help a deserving local non-profit organization and raise awareness about an important cause.

Thanks to the impressive on-ice performance of the high-scoring> Washington Capitals, the Bank has made significant donations to the following local organizations over the years: Most Valuable Kids Inc. (2016), Alice’s Kids, Inc. (2017), Connect our Kids (2018), Rebuilding Together DC-Alexandria (2019), Homestretch (2020), Operation Renewed Hope (2021), GrandInvolve (2022), and Willing Warriors (2023).
