Over $26,500 and Counting!
We are cheering extra hard for our Washington Capitals this season – because every time the Caps score, GrandInvolve wins! For every Capitals goal scored during the 2021-22 NHL regular season, Burke & Herbert Bank is donating $100 to GrandInvolve, a non-profit organization that places older adult volunteers directly into our area’s Title I elementary schools to assist with reading, math, mentoring, kindergarten readiness and more. As a result, students improve academically, volunteers and students build lasting relationships, and our community is strengthened.
This year’s “Burke & Herbert Bank Scores for Kids” program marks the seventh year in a row that the Bank has teamed up with NBC Sports Washington to leverage the excitement of the hockey season and the enthusiasm of Capitals on-air announcers Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin to help a deserving local non-profit organization and raise awareness about an important cause.
Thanks to the impressive on-ice performance of the high-scoring Washington Capitals, the Bank has donated a total of over $150,000 to the following organizations: Most Valuable Kids Inc. (2016), Alice’s Kids, Inc. (2017), Connect our Kids (2018), Rebuilding Together DC-Alexandria (2019), Homestretch (2020), and Operation Renewed Hope Foundation (2021).
Let’s go Caps!
