Over $18,000 and Counting!

Hundreds For Homes

With the National Hockey League (NHL) season just past its mid-way point, the “Burke & Herbert Bank Hundreds for Homes” program is going strong: as of March 24, the donation amount had grown to $10,600 to help support our nation’s Veterans experiencing homelessness. For every Capitals goal scored during the 2021 NHL regular season, Burke & Herbert Bank will donate $100 to Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps Veterans who are homeless secure safe, permanent housing throughout the Washington, DC area, and also overcome the root causes of homelessness and instability in their lives.

The “Burke & Herbert Bank Hundreds for Homes” program marks the sixth year in a row that Burke & Herbert Bank has teamed up with NBC Sports Washington to leverage the excitement of the hockey season and the enthusiasm of Capitals on-air announcers Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin to help a deserving local non-profit organization and raise awareness about an important cause.

Thanks to the impressive on-ice performance of the high-scoring Washington Capitals, the Bank has donated over $25,000 each to Most Valuable Kids Inc. (2016), Alice’s Kids, Inc. (2017), Connect our Kids (2018), Rebuilding Together DC-Alexandria (2019), and Homestretch (2020).

Let’s go Caps!
