Burke & Herbert Bank Presents '$100s for Homes'
For Every Capitals Goal, We Donate $100!
We are cheering extra hard for our Washington Capitals during this National Hockey League season – because every time the Caps score, they generate funds for permanent housing and employment assistance for families in crisis.
That's because for every Capitals goal during the regular season, Burke & Herbert Bank will donate $100 to the non-profit organization Homestretch. Because the Caps have "lit the lamp" 181 times so far this season, that means at least $18,100 for Homestretch.
Homestretch empowers homeless parents with children to attain permanent housing and self-sufficiency by providing the skills, knowledge and hope they need to become productive participants in the community. To learn more about the great work Homestretch does, visit homestretchva.org.
The 2019-2020 hockey campaign marks the fifth season that Burke & Herbert Bank has teamed up with NBC Sports Washington to leverage the excitement of the NHL season and the enthusiasm of Capitals on-air announcers Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin to help a deserving local non-profit organization and raise awareness about an important cause.
Thanks to the impressive on-ice performance of the high-scoring Capitals in the past several seasons, Burke & Herbert Bank has donated more than $25,000 each to Most Valuable Kids Inc. (2016), Alice's Kids, Inc. (2017), Connect our Kids (2018), and Rebuilding Together DC-Alexandria (2019).
Let's go Caps!
