Burke & Herbert Bank Welcomes New Commercial Banking Executive

Gregory P. Mellors Joins Bank’s Leadership Team

Alexandria, VA – Burke & Herbert Bank announced today that Gregory P. Mellors will join the Bank on January 19, 2021 as Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking.   In this role, Mr. Mellors will manage the Bank’s commercial banking business line and play the lead role in developing and implementing strategies to enhance and grow this important business for the Bank.   In particular, Mr. Mellors will focus on expanding the Bank’s commercial and industrial (C&I) banking program, which is a top priority for the Bank.

Greg’s significant experience in the financial services industry and in all aspects of commercial banking – new business development, credit and risk management, financial performance, and team leadership and development – is just what we need to move forward with our expansion program.” He added, “Greg’s knowledge of our local market also is a big plus.”

Mr. Mellors has close to twenty years of experience in commercial banking in a variety of roles. Most recently, he was in a commercial banking leadership role at Wells Fargo Bank, responsible for leading the Bank’s commercial banking teams in five separate markets throughout central and western Virginia. Prior experience includes business development and credit management roles with increasing levels of responsibility at Insignia Bank and Orion Bank, both in Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida, and at BB&T in Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida and in Charleston, West Virginia. Mr. Mellors earned his MBA at the Mason School of Business Administration at The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and holds a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland, Smith School of Business in College Park, Maryland.
