Goals for Good Donation

150 Goals Reached = $15,000 and growing for United Community!

The Goals for Good program is a partnership between the Bank and Monumental Sports Network, broadcast network for the Washington Capitals hockey team. For every goal scored by the Capitals during the 2025-26 NHL regular season, Burke & Herbert Bank is donating $100 to United Community (UC), a local non-profit organization serving one of northern Virginia’s most economically challenged areas. United Community has served as a cornerstone of support, breaking the cycle of generational poverty and strengthening families across the region since 1969.  Through UC’s holistic, client-centered approach, they offer more than services — they provide interconnected programs to ensure stability such as early childhood development, food access, workforce readiness, and wellness.

This is the 11th consecutive year that Burke & Herbert Bank has teamed up with Monumental Sports Network to leverage the excitement of the hockey season and the enthusiasm of Capitals on-air announcers Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin to help a deserving local non-profit organization and raise awareness about an important cause and make a meaningful impact in our community.

Thanks to the impressive on-ice performance of the high-scoring Washington Capitals, the Bank has made significant donations to the following local organizations over the years: Most Valuable Kids Inc. (2016), Alice’s Kids, Inc. (2017), Connect our Kids (2018), Rebuilding Together DC-Alexandria (2019), Homestretch (2020), Operation Renewed Hope (2021), GrandInvolve (2022), and Willing Warriors (2023), Capital Youth Empowerment Program (2024) and Northern Virginia Family Services (2025).

Let’s go Caps!
