261 Goals Reached = $26,100 Donatin for United Community!

Burke & Herbert Bank selected United Community as the 2025–2026 Goals for Good recipient, recognizing its dedication to breaking the cycle of poverty by building inspiring communities, creating opportunities for prosperity, and improving the quality of life for the people it serves. The $26,100 donation will help advance United Community’s programs that provide housing stability, workforce development, financial education, and essential services for thousands of individuals and families in the region.

This is the 11th consecutive year that Burke & Herbert Bank has teamed up with Monumental Sports Network to leverage the excitement of the hockey season and the enthusiasm of Capitals on-air announcers Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin —to support a deserving local nonprofit, raise awareness for an important cause, and make a meaningful impact in the community. The donation reflects $100 for each of the 261 goals scored by the Washington Capitals during the 2025–2026 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season.

Since launching the Goals for Good program in 2014, Burke & Herbert Bank has raised awareness and funds for a wide range of nonprofit organizations serving children, families, veterans, and communities in need throughout the DC Metro area. Past beneficiaries include Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS), Capital Youth Empowerment Program, Willing Warriors, GrandInvolve, Operation Renewed Hope Foundation, Homestretch, Inc., Rebuilding Together DC‑Alexandria, Connect Our Kids, Inc., Alice’s Kids, Inc., Most Valuable Kids, Inc., and Northern Virginia Family Service. In total, the Bank has donated close to $280,000.
