Goals for Good Donation

150 Goals Reached = $15,000 and growing for Nvfs!

The Goals for Good program is a partnership between the Bank and Monumental Sports Network, broadcast network for the Washington Capitals hockey team. For every goal scored by the Capitals during the 2024-25 NHL regular season, Burke & Herbert Bank is donating $100 to Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), a local non-profit organization that provides the essential building blocks for financial, emotional and physical well-being, serving as leaders and innovators for the Northern Virginia community. Every year, NVFS empower more than 40,000 individuals to achieve self-sufficiency. With these essential resources, our community is better equipped for future success and engagement among all of our neighbors.

This is the tenth consecutive year that Burke & Herbert Bank has teamed up with Monumental Sports Network  to leverage the excitement of the hockey season and the enthusiasm of Capitals on-air announcers Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin to help a deserving local non-profit organization and raise awareness about an important cause.

Thanks to the impressive on-ice performance of the high-scoring Washington Capitals, the Bank has made significant donations to the following local organizations over the years: Most Valuable Kids Inc. (2016), Alice’s Kids, Inc. (2017), Connect our Kids (2018), Rebuilding Together DC-Alexandria (2019), Homestretch (2020), Operation Renewed Hope (2021), GrandInvolve (2022), and Willing Warriors (2023) and Capital Youth Empowerment Program (2024).
