E. Hunt Burke Elected Burke & Herbert Bank Chairman of the Board
Alexandria, VA – Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust Company announced today that E. Hunt Burke, Chief Executive Officer, has been elected Chairman of the Board effective April 1, 2010.
Mr. Burke previously served as President, and was named Chief Executive Officer of the Bank in July 2009. He succeeds Charles K. Collum who served as Chairman since 2002. As part of the executive leadership transition, W. Scott McSween joined the Bank in July 2009 as President and Chief Operating Officer.
The fifth generation of his family to lead the 158-year-old Bank, Mr. Burke has worked at the Bank in a variety of roles since the age of 13 and then as a full-time staff member for 30 years.

Mr. Burke was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia, attended Episcopal High School and the University of Richmond. He received his B.A. from George Mason University while working full time at Burke & Herbert Bank. He graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Bank Management at the University of Virginia. He and his wife of 26 years, Molly, reside in Alexandria with their four daughters.
